Although skin boosters all aim to improve skin quality, they differ in their composition and mechanism of action. Some primarily improve skin hydration, while others stimulate collagen production, support tissue regeneration or provide structural support.

In skin boosters, hyaluronic acid is thinner and more fluid, forming part of a skin-rejuvenating cocktail that improves hydration and skin quality without altering facial shape.

Most patients require 1–3 treatments, typically spaced 2–6 weeks apart. Results generally last 6–12 months, depending on the product used and individual response to treatment.

Patients can return to normal activities immediately. In rare cases, mild bruising may occur at the injection site, but this usually resolves within a few days.

Very fine needles are used for skin booster injections, and a numbing cream is usually applied beforehand, so patients find the treatment very tolerable.

Skin boosters can be injected into the cheeks, forehead, and areas around the eyes and mouth. They can also be used in the neck, décolletage, hands, and other areas where improved hydration and skin quality are desired.

Injection techniques depend on the product used and the patient's needs and goals. For example, Profhilo® is often injected at specific Bio Aesthetic Points (BAPs) on each side of the face, whereas products such as Jalupro® and Karisma® may be injected at multiple points across the treatment area.

Skin boosters are generally not recommended during pregnancy or breastfeeding, or if you have an active skin infection. Suitability will be assessed during your consultation.
